Recently rebranded as Villa Eyrie, this Mediterranean-inspired resort is set on 75 acres atop the Malahat summit viewpoint on southern Vancouver Island, affording stunning ocean and mountain views.
Featuring 35 rooms and suites, a full-service spa, fine dining and meeting facilities, the resort was soft-branded as a member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux collection and was recognized by Condé Nast Traveler as the "Best Resort in North America" and by Travel + Leisure as the "Best Hotel in North America".
Markus managed day-to-day operations for 14 years, overseeing financial, operational, sales and marketing plans to transform a family-run business into a RevPAR leader in the Canadian luxury boutique hotel market. He built an exceptional team, forged strategic industry partnerships, acquired and rezoned adjacent lands, and implemented several resort expansions.
After Markus and his team’s tenure, the property was rebranded and is now recognized as Villa Eyrie Resort.
