City of Richmond — Britannia Shipyards
A feasibility study for food services at the historic Britannia Shipyards site in Steveston, Richmond, BC.
Britannia Shipyards is a 3.2-hectare historic cannery and shipyard site and public park located on the south side of Lulu Island on the South Arm of the Fraser River in the community of Steveston in Richmond, BC.
The site is part of a three-kilometre stretch of shoreline known collectively as Cannery Channel, which was once the most prolific salmon canning centre in British Columbia. Declared a National Historic Site in 1992, it opened as a public facility in 1995.
BlueOcean Consulting was asked to undertake a feasibility study to guide the development of food services on the bottom floor of the Chinese Bunkhouse building at Britannia Shipyards, and the Phoenix Net Loft.
