The Sidney Pier Hotel & Spa is an upscale boutique hotel featuring a contemporary and timeless design with a colour palette inspired by the natural shoreline. The Pier’s vision is to offer the finest marine experience in the Pacific Northwest.

It offers 55 spacious guestrooms, including 9 suites with full kitchens, a business centre with a 300 sq-ft boardroom, over 1,000 sq-ft of versatile meeting space, guest laundry facilities, a 2,050 sq-ft full-service salon and spa, a 1,200 sq-ft oceanside fitness centre, a street-side café/deli, and a West-Coast-inspired restaurant, lounge and outdoor terrace.

Markus was initially engaged to consult on the hotel concept and business plan development for a waterfront boutique hotel. The contract expanded to include facility planning and pre- and post-opening management services, including implementation of financial, operational, and sales-and-marketing plans; selection and coaching of the executive and management team; selection and integration of yield management and management information systems; and promotion of a value-based corporate culture.
